November Newsletter

Dear Parents, Fall is flying by and the holiday season is quickly approaching. Here at Christ Lutheran Preschool we are "shifting gears" from the Fall Harvest, Careers, and Fire Safety, to our November themes: Nutrition and Transportation. We also will be concentrating on "Giving Thanks" as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving. We have many important activities approaching. I post every note on the bulletin board located directly across from my office.

This month we have several important dates to remember:

    • Nov. 3 November Tuition Due Nov. 4 NO SCHOOL — the church is a polling place
    • Nov. 6 & 7 Christmas Bazaar fund-raiser
    • Nov. 7 Marriott Theatre money due (give to teacher)
    • Nov. 8 Fall 2009 In-House Registration (12:00 PM-2:00 PM)
    • Nov. 11 NO SCHOOL &em; Veteran's Day
    • Nov. 14 Cookie Dough pick-up
    • Nov. 17-21 Operation Christmas Child (separate note to follow)
    • Nov. 24 & 25 All School Thanksgiving Feast (separate note to follow) (NO LUNCH BUNCH)
    • Nov. 26 - 28 NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Holiday

Christmas Program Schedule:

    • Monday, December 15th Young 4's 9:00 AM
    • Young 3's & Main 3's 10:30 AM 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 16th
    • Young 3's & Main 3's 10:30 AM 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 17th
    • Main 4's 10:30 AM 2:00 PM Thursday, December 18th
    • Tot Co-op 8:45 AM Pre-K (4 & 5 day) 10:30 AM 2:00 PM Friday, December 19th
    • Tot Co-op 8:45 AM In-House Registration for the 2009/2010 school year is Saturday, November 8th, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM. The later time has been chosen to provide a safe and warm place indoors to wait in line for anyone who would like to come early.

Also, the Main 4 program has been renamed the Pre-K (3-day) program for next year. We will go outside to play, even in colder weather. Please remember to dress your child appropriately (coat, mittens, hat, snow pants and boots). Snow pants and boots are required to play in the snow. PLEASE LABEL ALL CLOTHING!

Please remember to keep your child at home when exhibiting the following symptoms: cough, nasal discharge, sore throat, excessive sneezing, diarrhea, extremely tired, and showing symptoms of a communicable disease (such as pink eye). Also, children must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to class. (We encourage you to use the hand wipes located throughout the school.)

Keep those healthy snacks coming! More ideas (from parents.): Individual small bags of cheese shapes and crackers (4 or so of each), dried fruit, celery with cream cheese and raisins, cereal, or shredded vegetables with cream cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla; soft tortillas are popular with the children &em; wrap them around anything healthy!

Don't forget our Lunch Bunch Program (11:00-12:00) and the Extended Day Program (12:00-1:00) when you plan your holiday shopping. See me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your generous support of our many fund-raisers. Our Chuck E. Cheese Night brought in $140.00 (Thanks Laura Ziegler and Gina Borkowski) and the Barnes and Noble Book Fair brought in $339.00 (Thanks Dana Zettler).
