Help Our Youth

CLC's youth has an ongoing fundraising program in cooperation with Phoneraiser.com. We are collecting used cell phones and ink cartridges. Phoneraiser now collects used mp3 players, handheld video games and digital cameras. This is new and we can get a 15% bonus. Also, during the Earth Day campaign, the Phonerasier partner who sends in the most cell phones by April 18th will win $1000. We're small, but you never know. Proceeds will benefit all our youth programs. If you have any questions , please feel free to call Penni Sauer at 224-628 5774.

About CLC Ministries

There are several ways to get involved in Christ Lutheran Church—ALL ARE WELCOME!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Christ Lutheran Church has a Prayer Shawl Ministry and we are looking for anyone interested in knitting or crocheting a Prayer Shawl.  The Prayer Shawl Ministry was started in 1998 by members of an ecumenical organization who donated their time and talents by creating hand-knitted and crocheted shawls for those in need. The Ministry's message of caring is simple and enduring. As happens many times the creation and presentation of a Prayer Shawl, like all acts of generosity, enriches its giver as well as the recipient.

These Prayer Shawls can be made on your schedule. As you complete a shawl, bring it to the Church office. The Prayer Shawl Ministry is part of the Caring Hands (formerly Project Linus) Ministry.

If you are interested in being part of this Ministry, patterns are available or check out the Lion Brand Yarn web site: www.lionbrand.com/patterns. We would like to have a supply of shawls available for Pastor Sue's use. Please contact Donna Clark with questions and/or comments at 847-541-2546 or r.h.clark@att.net.

Altar Guild

Our goal is to care for all the worship paraments and vessels and to provide for the beautification of worship in our Lord's house. The Altar Guild meets monthly in homes for fellowship and study regarding worship.

Hospitality Team Ministry

We intentionally welcome everyone. Through our sincere, caring actions and our genuine expression of interest, everyone at Christ Lutheran Church practices what Christ has commanded us to do.

Nursery Ministry

The Christ Lutheran Church nursery is a volunteer ministry developed to care for the congregation's youngest children so that parents may join in worship during Sunday worship hours.

Office Helpers

There are occasions for help in the church office—folding bulletins, compiling mailings, collating newsletters and reports, and more.

Worship Planning Teams

Be a part of a worship team. The Worship and Music committee is putting together worship teams who will meet once each church season in planning our worship services for the next church season. Each meeting will be short and will plan special music, hymns, decorations and other aspects of worship.  Please speak with Peter or Sonia Schoenfield if you are interested.

Prayer Chain

Our Prayer Chain group continues to raise up the concerns of our congregation and friends to the Lord in prayer. We welcome anyone interested in joining this group.

If you need a prayer for yourself, a friend or a family member, please call Marge Stueckemann at 362-9036 or the church office at 367-5787. If you would like to join this ministry, please contact Marge.
